I place an overwhelming emphasis on looking closely at full-body movement. Every patient receives a head-to-toe movement screen, every visit, no matter where the pain is. This is because pain is just a symptom and often is not the primary area which needs to be addressed when seeking long-term results.
The body is made up of many individual parts which work as a single unit when moving throughout the day. For example, bending over to pick an object off the ground takes proper movement at the ankles, knees, hips, and back. If we don’t look at each individual part, no matter where the pain is, we are only placing a “bandaid” on the pain (i.e. short-term solution). Finding what parts aren’t participating as they are meant to is the long-term solution.
Essentially, I help people who have pain with movement and make that movement pain free. It’s that simple.
